About the Role:
St. Rita Animal Fund LLP in Cockeysville, MD is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team of animal care professionals. If you're passionate about providing exceptional patient care and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and administer medications and vaccines
- Conduct diagnostic imaging (radiographs) and collect laboratory samples for analysis
- Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals during surgical procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
- Educate and communicate with pet owners regarding treatment plans and home care
- Ensure proper sanitation and maintenance of exam rooms and medical equipment
Requirements:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on veterinary technician experience required
- Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, phlebotomy, and laboratory procedures
- Strong knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, client-focused demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, high-volume clinical setting
- Physical ability to lift and restrain animals of varying sizes
